The first season of The Witcher on Netflix turned out to be an absolute success. No wonder that the streaming service has long been working on the second season – and this will actually bring a completely new character to the franchise.
Even if you may have all devoured the Witcher books and enjoyed yourself in the games of CD Projekt RED, you will not necessarily fully know what is going on in the second season of the Witcher series. Because according to a new report, there is at least one completely new character in the second season at Netflix, which in this form was neither in the books nor in the video games.
As Deadline now reports, a new character called Violet will play a role in the second season of The Witcher on Netflix. This is embodied by the 15-year-old Carmel Laniado. Earlier speculations that Violet may just be a code name for another protagonist from the books are therefore not confirmed.
Laniado is best known to you as Lady Rose in the recently released movie "Dolittle" with Robert Downey Jr. She also appeared in "A Christmas Carol". In The Witcher she will be seen in at least three episodes, with which she will not have a small role. Violet is described as a young girl, behind whose playful appearance there is actually a rather sadistic character.
Production of The Witcher's second season is slated to start on February 17th and continue through August. Season two is scheduled to start on Netflix in 2021.
