As is well known, the Netflix hit series The Witcher is going into a fourth season – and in this you will be able to welcome several well-known faces to the cast.
The TV adaptation of The Witcher has proven to be a huge success for Netflix, but the upcoming fourth season is known to bring major changes. While actors Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey return to portray their main characters Ciri, Yennefer and Jaskier, Henry Cavill will be missing. He had previously played the protagonist Geralt of Rivia, but from season 4 onwards he will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth – a step that caused heated discussions and plenty of disappointment in fan circles.
In this respect, a lot will change in Season 4 – also because you will have to memorize various new characters. How Variety reports, the cast of The Witcher on Netflix has also been expanded to include well-known actors for the new season, who you will then see on your screens from 2025.
First of all, there is Sharlto Copley, known from the films “District 9” and “Chappie,” among others. He will play the accomplished swordsman and bounty hunter Leo Bonhart in the Witcher series. Copley is considered one of the most famous actors from South Africa.
James Purefoy (“Resident Evil”, “Churchill”) will also play an important role. In the future, he will embody the mysterious Nilfgaard spy Stefan Skellen, to whom he will breathe life with his more than 30 years of acting experience.
Last but not least, Danny Woodburn (“TMNT”, “Seinfeld”) was also confirmed for a role, namely that of Zoltan Chivay. Fans of the franchise know him as Geralt’s close friend, who also appears as his companion in the video games.
Matrix star Laurence Fishburne had also previously been cast in the role of the enigmatic vampire Regis. In short: Even without Henry Cavill, there is probably a lot to come for Netlix in the fourth season of The Witcher.
