Fans of the Netflix hit series The Witcher have reason to be happy: the production of the third season is now really picking up speed!
At the beginning of March there were first reports that Netflix wants to start filming the third season of The Witcher in a few weeks; at that time it was assumed that it would be the end of March or the beginning of April – and that’s exactly how it happened now.
The show’s official Twitter account has now confirmed that Season 3 is now in production. The message was garnished with a first photo from the set for the sequel.
However, said photo does not provide any deeper insights into what we can expect in concrete terms. A vast, snowy field is shown, with the main characters Geral (Henry Cavill), Ciri (Freya Allen) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) sitting on set while the team prepares for the next shoot.
Just the news that production is finally starting again is reason to be happy. While the picture otherwise reveals little in terms of content, Netflix has also published the description of what the plot is supposed to be about.
When exactly Season 3 of The Witcher will start on Netflix is not yet known. The first season started in December 2019, the second season followed at the end of 2021. However, the production of the second season was delayed several times due to the corona pandemic, so it is to be hoped that this time it will not wait until the end of 2023 to continue.
