Netflix held its big Tudum event over the weekend and released information and trailers for numerous upcoming series and films. “The Witcher” was also discussed, but everyone waiting for Season 3 must be strong.
The third season of the successful series adaptation of “The Witcher” on Netflix will take some time. Netflix confirmed this as part of the Tudum event at the weekend.
Henry Cavill will therefore not be returning as Geralt of Rivia this year – and will also take some time in the new year 2023 before he can be seen in the sequel in season 3. The streaming giant has not yet given a specific start date, but it has confirmed that it will (not until) be ready in the summer of 2023.
However, there is also good news for fans of the fantasy franchise, because the waiting time until then will be sweetened elsewhere on Netflix: The prequel spin-off “The Witcher: Blood Origin”, which is dedicated to the origin story of the witchers, will be released get started this year.
Starring Michelle Yeoh, this series is slated to premiere on Netflix in Christmas 2022.
