The Witcher series on Netflix is going through bigger changes in Season 4 than previously thought. Not only will the Geralt actor be replaced, but also that of Vesemir.

The series adaptation of The Witcher on Netflix has so far turned out to be an absolute success story, but with Season 4 a new era begins. This is mainly due to the fact that Netflix is replacing the main actor Henry Cavill and will have Liam Hemsworth appear as the witcher Geralt in the future. But – as has now been officially confirmed – this is not the only personnel reorganization.

The iconic character Vesemir will also be recast in season 4 of the series. The previous actor Kim Bodnia will no longer be returning and the specific reason for this has now been revealed. So Netflix isn’t necessarily the reason here.

A spokesman for Bodnia told RadioTimes commented on the relevant rumors and confirmed that Bodnia will no longer return as Vesemir. The reason for this is the actor’s busy schedule, which is tied to several other projects and therefore does not find time for filming The Witcher 4.

In the Netflix series, Bodnia was first seen in season 2 as Geralt’s mentor Vesemir. In Season 3, his role as the most experienced of all sorcerers was further expanded and deepened.
