Just yesterday we reported on the groundbreaking success of the first season of "The Witcher" on Netflix. In this context, rumors of a film version also appeared – and these have already proven to be true a short time later.
After plenty of speculation whirled around the net that "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf" might even be in the works of a film on the book series and RPG brand, Netflix quickly got his head around. Accordingly, the rumors that have recently emerged are completely true and, in fact, in addition to the second season of the actual series, there will also be a film on Netflix in the medium term.
Netflix addresses the current rumors in a statement Twitter and affirmed that "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf" will be an animated film. This will deal with a new danger far from the series action.
The rumors are true, a new Witcher story is in the works! The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent. Brought to you by the Witcher team @LHissrich and @BeauDeMayo, and Studio Mir the studio behind Legend of Korra.

Interesting in this context: The animated film is developed by the same team that also runs the live action series on Netflix, which started so successfully on December 20 last year and is on its way to becoming the most watched new Netflix series of all time become responsible. In short: Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich is in charge and Beau DeMayo will – as speculated – act as a writer. The implementation itself is handled by Studio Mir ("Legend of Korra").
However, the streaming service initially left open until when the film can be expected to be broadcast. Will this come before the second season of the series in 2021?
