In “The Witcher” Season 3, a girl appears who mistakes herself for Ciri. That’s what Teryn is all about and that’s how it could go with her.
- In “The Witcher” Season 3, the girl Teryn is introduced, who thinks she is Princess Ciri.
- The sorcerers Rience and Vilgefortz conducted experiments on Aretuan novices to create a fake Ciri.
- Vilgefortz probably wanted to foist Teryn on the Nilfgaardian Emperor.
“The Witcher” season 3 presents Geralt of Rivia with many challenges. Especially since half the continent is hunting for his ward, Ciri. But one thing bothers him in particular: the events in the horror castle in which he is looking for the magician Rience.
Geralt knows that Rience is after Ciri and when he hears about a place where the fire wizard with the nasty scar is, he has to go see him. There he finds a cruel experiment: Three alive (!!!) girls’ heads appear in the castle walls.
Their bodies have merged into a single, living ball of limbs that begins attacking Geralt. With every body killed, a head dies. Only one girl survived, mostly because she’s still in one piece: Teryn.
Ciri’s experiences were implanted by Vilgefortz in Teryn to take Ciri’s place
At the end of “The Witcher” season 3, it turns out that Rience is just a henchman of the wizard Vilgefortz and that he performed these hideous experiments on half-elves. With the help of Lydia and Rience, Vilgefortz was able to kidnap half-elven novices from the Aretusa Wizarding Academy to practice his master plan on.
He wanted to cast a spell on one of the girls to believe that she was Ciri and implant in her all relevant memories of the princess. Vilgefortz has a pact with the Emperor of Nilfgaard, Emhyr var Emreis, who is also the true father of Ciri. He wanted to foist this fake Ciri on him so that he could pursue his actual plans with the original Ciri. Vilgefortz is after Ciri’s powers and wants to incorporate them. With Ciri’s elder blood, he could use the monoliths again as portals to other spheres.
Vilgefortz also probably wanted to create an entire army of fake Ciris and scatter them across the continent to confuse the Northern Kingdoms, Nilfgaard, the Elves and the Wild Hunt and keep them away from the real Ciri.
What will happen to Teryn in The Witcher Season 3 Part 2?
Teryn does not exist in Andrzej Sapkowski’s witcher novels. In the novels, however, there is another fake Ciri whose real name is never mentioned. She is called Cirila Fiona, and Codringher and Fenn tell Geralt about an orphan girl who looks like Ciri that he can use to trick Rience.
However, Geralt refuses, but Vilgefortz finds out about her and takes her to Nilfgaard to hand her over to Emperor Emhyr and trick him. However, he quickly recognizes the deception and secretly continues to search for his real daughter. Nonetheless, he marries the fake Ciri and passes her off as real to secure his power.
