So friends, another week is over and the long-awaited and deserved free time is already within reach. And what better way to take advantage of the modest weather (depending on the region) than to sit comfortably in front of the PC and play?
And even though it’s the end of the month and the tears in your account have dried up with the latest paycheck, free games are always a good idea to try something new. As usual, we present you the current free weekends and free games this week.
Highlight of the week: Verdun

What is… Verdun? – Battlefield 1 alternative for realism fans
What is Verdun about? Attention hardcore shooter lovers! This weekend you can try the Battlefield alternative Verdun in Free Weekend on Steam. The multiplayer shooter is all about the famous Battle of Verdun, where two factions fight each other in trench warfare. Within the factions you play in squads with three other players and try to win one of the four game modes. So it works in a similar way to what you already know from Battlefield.
Verdun’s focus is on realism. This means you are re-enacting a historical battle with realistic weapons and uniforms. While the number of players is usually around the hundred mark, the number of players is now climbing for the Free Weekend to almost tenfold.
You can try Verdun for free from now until Monday 2 May.

More free games
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt: The free-to-play battle royale doesn’t really belong here because you can now play it permanently for free. But since it wasn’t released until April 27th, we still included the third-person shooter. You fight a relentless battle against other vampire clans in the streets of Prague and you can get a first glimpse in the trailer:

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt – The Free Battle Royale starts today on PS5 & PC
Here you can download Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt on Steam
Survival Quiz CITY: Another multiplayer title. But this time it’s not about dominance in Prague but about lots of quiz questions and the right answers. If you answer the questions correctly, you can choose something from the arsenal of weapons and fire up the losers. If you’re on the losing side, you’ll have to make it through an obstacle course. The whole thing is visually reminiscent of Fall Guys, but plays a little differently.
You can play Surivival Quiz CITY until Monday, May 2nd in the Try Free Weekend on Steam for free.
Paradigm: Even gene experiments can go wrong. In the adventure you play the eponymous mutant Paradim, who has to save the world at once through a chain of events. There is a lot of 80s charm and humor.
