Prices never fall sweeter than at Christmas time. Just imagine that we just warbled that in an angelic voice. When is a sale better than a time when we’re looking for tons of gifts or at least have enough free time to actually buy a few new games for the digital library? In the end you don’t play them through, but as with many things at Christmas, good will counts in this case too.
At the start of the week we went on the prowl again and kept an eye out for some very worthwhile sale candidates. Normally we would have pointed you towards new releases, but there are just not enough of those coming up on Christmas Eve – at least unless you’re looking for tons of cheaply produced, raunchy anime games.
Instead you can find it here three really outstanding games that got at least a 90 in the GameStar test and are only available for a few days or hours for very little money.

Hunt: Showdown – Fabian Siegismund’s favorite shooter
Hunt: Showdown is something like the anti-call-of-duty. Where one is all about fast action, good triggering and wildcat reflexes, the other is more about skillful tactics, atmosphere and mastering some very old-fashioned guns. Hunt: Showdown puts you in the role of a hunter who makes his way into the swamp and is confronted with numerous dark horrors of the horror world.
But as always, alongside these zombies and demons, there is something far more terrifying… other humans. As a multiplayer shooter, Hunt isn’t just about getting the best loot and glory-boosting monsters. Other hunters also want the reward and are not afraid to stab you in the back. So you shouldn’t either, unless you’re competing in co-op… better behave yourself then.
By the way, an event is currently running in Hunt that set the entire game map on fire. That sounds like a perfect Christmas game! But you have to be quick, the game is only reduced for a few hours.

God of War: PC trailer shows first scenes from the PlayStation masterpiece
For a long time, PC gamers had to do without some of the greatest masterpieces in gaming history because Sony intended them to be exclusive workhorses for the PlayStation. Now, however, the time has come when old exclusivities keep disappearing every year and these masterpieces are translated onto the PC. God of War is one of them. In the action-adventure, you, as the god of war Kratos, make your way through a beautiful Nordic landscape to scatter his mother’s ashes on the highest peak together with your son.
Hardly any other series succeeds so masterfully in combining very personal stories with an epic that is really second to none. God of War is a game that either keeps you busy with its action-packed and dynamic battles, amazes you with its staging, or lets you feel very, very strong emotions with its story. We guarantee that at least once you will gape.

800 hours later, Micha loves Cities: Skylines more than Stellaris
A few years ago it sounded like madness to think that a game like Cities: Skylines could seriously outperform a series like Sim City. Today, hardly any city-building fan wastes a thought on Sim City. Anyway, they’re way too busy building a perfect metropolis in Cities: Skyines!
Here you really get everything you could wish for as an aspiring builder and mayor. You take care of your city’s electricity and water supply, build residential or industrial areas and, above all, regulate your traffic. That’s even more fun, since Cities: Skylines simulates its city dwellers in a really understandable way and doesn’t just pretend real city life to us.
So you can currently get one of the best building games of the last 10 years very cheaply. But keep in mind that Cities: Skylines has also released an extremely large number of DLCs. Not all of these expansions are worthwhile, but with the right choice you can pimp your gaming experience again. In our night test you will find out which DLCs you should definitely take with you.
