gamescom 2022 is now over, but of course the video game fever continues! There were also some exciting new announcements and videos to see during the week. Especially during the Opening Night Live on August 23rd, a bunch of new trailers were shown. The summary of the evening with all trailers and announcements can be found in the following article:

The 24-second video for The Finals made it to number 5 of our most-watched gamescom trailers. In the multiplayer shooter you find yourself in a fighting game show where you compete in teams and shoot for fame and glory.
The title is free for all players! And you don’t have to wait too long either, the shooter is expected to be released later this year. 4. Dune Awakening

Dune Awakening: New survival MMO with open world shows first trailer
Genre: Survival-MMO | Developer: Funcom | Release: 2023
The Dune universe is hugely popular again thanks to Denis Villeneuve’s new film. No wonder a new game is in the works! In Dune Awakening you will fight for your survival on the desert planet Arrakis – but not alone. As the trailer reveals, it will be a survival MMO.
That of course suits the makers of the game, Funcom. They already have experience with the genre with Conan Exiles. There was no gameplay yet, but the cinematic trailer looks incredibly good. You can read here why this might convince our survival-shy Vali:

3. Dead Island 2 Render Trailer

Of course it has too Dead Island 2 made it to our list. After all, the game has been in development for 10 years now! So fans are eagerly awaiting more material.
The cinematic trailer for the zombie shooter comes around the corner with typical black humor and already reveals a release date: Already

2. Atlas Fallen

Atlas Fallen: Trailer for the new action role-playing game from Deck13 shows spectacular sand magic
Genre: Action RPG | Developer: Deck 13 Interactive | Release: 2023
A cinematic trailer is also in second place: The action role-playing game Atlas Fallen is all about sand magic. You are in a fantastic desert world where humanity is dominated by gods. With the help of a magic glove, you can form weapons out of sand that you can use against huge monsters.
Incidentally, the ambitious project comes from Frankfurt Studio Deck 13, i.e. the makers of The Surge and Lords of the Fallen. Studio founder Jan Klose revealed a few more details in our preview of the game:

Oops, it’s Dead Island 2 again! You are obviously so interested in the zombie shooter that both videos even made it into our top 5 most watched gamescom trailers.
Of course, how the game ultimately looks is much more interesting than a rendered video. So it’s not surprising which of the two trailers was more exciting for you.
Judging by your comments, the trailer has largely convinced you, but the time exclusivity for the Epic Games Store dampened the anticipation.
