Gaming News These overwhelming details in video games made us say that the developers went too far
Publishers and development studios are always looking for ways to make their game as perfect as possible. However, the explanations are sometimes taken to extremes and seem almost exaggerated. Let’s take a look at some details in our JV Select!
As the saying goes, “It’s not the details that catch our attention, it’s the lack of details”! It’s sure that a video game with empty and lifeless locations doesn’t make many people dream… But in the desire to make their universe even more immersive, some developers have gone a little too far. Here we tell you about the times when the developers went overboard w ith details in this JV Select.
First of all, how can we not quote Hideo Kojima? The Japanese creator, best known for his Metal Gear game series that has sold more than 54 million copies, is also a screenwriter, director, producer, game designer and is responsible for editing his own game. In his opus Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty, released on PS2 in 2001, we play Raiden, another clone of Big Boss, and Solid Snake. At one point, Snake stands in a bar next to a bucket full of ice cubes. When you shoot it, ice cubes are thrown onto the table and melt over time like real ice pieces.
Horizon Zero Dawn: Photo in Le mode
If we talk about details, we can’t talk about Horizon Zero Dawn, the game by Guerrilla Games released on PS4 in 2017. It is considered one of the most beautiful games in the history of video games if we talk about open world. What’s special about it are the breathtaking landscapes and the photo mode. When we zoom in on certain areas, we discover some pretty crazy details. For example, we can observe ants carrying food along a tree trunk. You will also notice puddles of water on the ground after a period of rain in the game, which will gradually disappear as the sun shines through.
