If there is a record in he world of the speedrun that everyone treasures, of course the one from Super Mario Bros. would be among the candidates. The 1985 platform requires an absurd level of precision to improve current marks, but Niftski just achieved it.
As collected from GamesRadar+the speedrunner has lowered the best time to leave the record in just 4:54:58leaving behind the record of 4:54:6 that had lasted 490 days established by himself. While the player's achievement is impressive, it also means that we are inexorably approaching a wall called the human limit.
The speedrunning community Super Mario Bros. has carried out tests with tools that have allowed them to conclude that the theoretically perfect time is 4:54:26. Improvements in this discipline are determined by just a few frames of difference and Niftski is only 18 frames away from achieving absolute perfection, which is equivalent to only 0.3 seconds.
“I'll take it to 4:54.4xx and lower in the near future, but for now, I'm very satisfied with this match! A big thank you to all of you who supported me during this tough test, you are the best”, commented Niftski after a truly heart-stopping finale in which his heart rate touched 180 beats. We will see how long it takes to reduce the mark even further. or if someone gets ahead of you.
