Dream team for a nightmarish Gotham City

Set immediately after the events of the 2022 film The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson as the hero, The Penguin series focuses on the rise to power of one of the most famous villains in the Dark Knight universe: The Penguin. In the role of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot we find Colin Farrell, who made a strong impression in the feature film by Matt Reeves

. Thanks to his numerous prosthetics, he was unrecognizable and delivered an impressive performance as the iconic villain. The executive producer and showrunner of the series is none other than Lauren Lefranc, known for the Marvel series: Agents of SHIELD. The series will consist of eight episodes, with the first three being directed by Craig Zobel (“The Hunt”).

A trailer that inspires

The Penguin series offered by HBO has just offered fans a brand new trailerpublished on the official YouTube account of the SVOD platform. In the latter, we see powerful shots, shootings, explosions and a Colin Farrell who always seems to have fun in the lame gait of the Penguin. The Irish actor is supported in the cast by Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs) in the role of Carmine Falcone’s daughter. Salvatore Maroni’s son is played by Michael Zegen (“The Stand In”). The trailer also shows some images of Clancy Brown, the actor we know from his roles in Starship Troopers or Detroit: Become Human by Quantic Dream.

The show, scheduled for September 19th on Max, promises us a dark journey into the dark side of the city of the Black Knight. In addition to the series, the Batman universe continues, this time on the big screen, with the sequel to the feature film The Batman entitled “The Batman: Part II
