Humor is always welcome in video games, because no one can deny themselves a good laugh. Over the years we have enjoyed works of all colors that are committed to this aspect, but rarely have they mocked us in such a direct way as they did The Bard’s Tale.
The inXile Entertainment title came to light back in 2004 on PS2, Xbox and PC, offering a fantasy RPG in which we had to overcome situations as insane as facing break-dancing corpses. The context is absolutely hilarious at all times and branches out depending on the responses we give with our main character.
The developer knew how to transfer the jokes to each scene, but nobody could imagine that the physical disk would also laugh at us. If you played any of the original versions, you would see the following message at the bottom of the disc: “For a really disturbing image… Turn the disc over.”
Obviously, some curious person would do it to find the reflection of himself in the back. A very nice joke from inXile Entertainment that surely brought more than a smile to the players of those times. Although the image corresponds to the PC edition that consisted of six discs, it also happens in the rest of the versions.
If you like try The Bard’s Tale in 2023, you can do it by being available on all platforms. We are talking about a high-resolution version and very juicy improvements that includes the three original titles of the franchise. In addition, they are at a more than appetizing price.
