game news This game that combines Mario Kart and the Disney universe will soon be available for free!
There was a time when Disney Interactive was a major antenna for the video game world. In addition to the licenses for animated films from Pixar and Burbank, the publisher also had some big surprises in its boxes. For example, we remember the excellent Split Second. Today that’s gone, but Disney games haven’t gone away. The proof…
Disney and video games
Even if Disney games are no longer as present on shelves or in digital stores, it is worth considering that Mickey and his gang were approaching the world of video games very quickly. As early as the 1980s, Mickey Mouse games could be found on Game & Watch or TRON on various media. But the switch came ten years later with exceptional titles from SEGA and Capcom. Many of us have fond memories of our DuckTales antics: La Bande à Scrou, Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers, The Lucky Dime Caper with Donald Duck, Castle of Illusion with Mickey Mouse, QuackShot with Donald Duck or even World of Illusion with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. If we add to that the masterful adaptations of animated films like “Aladdin” or “The Lion King”, there are many video game memories marked by Disney games. That magic faded over time, but there were still a lot of very nice titles with the imprint “Mickey & Co.” And on the whole, the Kingdom Hearts saga is hard to forget, even if it’s a series alternative. All of this means that a new Disney game is coming soon!
A Mario Kart in the Disney universe
Developed by Gameloft Barcelona, the Disney Speedstorm game has just left its Early Access phase and will be released on September 28th on our computers, whether PC or consoles. Developed in collaboration with Disney and Pixar Games, Disney Speedstorm is a cross-platform racing game that takes the philosophy of a Mario Kart and immerses virtual drivers in the universe of the big-eared mouse. We’ll find the well-known characters of the franchise and a whole series of items to subvert these opponents. The title will be released on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). The latter has the advantage of being completely free to discover! In fact, it’s a free-to-play game that can only be downloaded to enjoy it. Of course, it will be possible to recover items and other bonuses by spending hard cash. In short, it looks good and happens at the beginning of the school year!
