The rumors of a new free-to-play Sonic game seem to be true as its gameplay has just been leaked online. And it closely resembles a game that everyone knows.
For a long time, the Sonic franchise remained in the shadows, without the shadow of a new work that would bring everyone together. Of course, the situation has changed since then and we now have some great projects on the horizon. We are of course thinking about the remaster of Generations, but also about the third film that is due to be released in cinemas. And that’s it ? Well no, because another game just fell victim to a leak and it’s not the first time we’ve heard about it. For good reason, it would take up a concept that found great popularity in a particular title called Fall Guys.
A new Sonic game has leaked and it’s free
About a month ago, Insider Gaming said he had several videos of a rather unusual mobile game. It’s called Sonic Toys Party and would feature the blue hedgehog and his gang in a Fall Guys-style multiplayer experience. In short, a title in which we compete in a series of mini-games until only one player remains, the big winner of the game. Needless to say, it works wonderfully. Of course, it was just a rumor, and since there was no video or pictures to delve into, it had to be taken with a grain of salt. But that’s it, the gameplay has been leaked.
It was the YouTube channel The Sonic Show that caused a stir by releasing a trailer for this famous Sonic Toys party. It is currently no longer available, which underlines the fact that it is something serious. However, many users managed to restore it, giving us our first glimpse of this very special and free-to-play new game. According to the Sonic Stadium account, it was in development at Sega Networks, resulting in the Sega Pocket Club Manager. So what do we see in the video?
We can see the characters from the Sonic universe (Amy, Knuckles, Tails, etc.) taking part in different and varied events that seem very edgy and quite amusing. At the moment the games look like they can accommodate a total of 32 players. Please note that Sega has not confirmed anything, even if it seems very credible. The latest rumor is that it will be released this summer. So if it turns out, we will certainly know more in the coming months.
