A new video game adaptation will see the light of day very soon. And this time it’s about a famous horror game franchise.
The cult horror game franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s was born in the mid-2010s. The principle is simple on paper, but addictive – and very scary – once the controller is in your hands. Survive against terrifying animatronics that come to life at night by anticipating their movements through surveillance cameras. Like many other video game licenses before it, “FNAF” will be adapted for the cinema. And exactly, the feature film speaks of him again by revealing himself a little more.
Five Nights at Freddy’s Film finds a release date
Does the name Jason Blum appeal to you? If not, you must be aware of some of the projects he was involved in without even knowing it. The Purge, Ouija, Out, Halloween…the man has produced some of the most popular horror films of the past decade. He also worked on the Paranormal Activity and has his own production company, Blumhouse Productions. He is currently working on the film adaptation of Five nights at Freddy’s. And while it’s been fairly discreet lately, Blum is revealing its release date, which is set for October 27 across the Atlantic, after teasing a “Great news” recently. Little bonus: if we follow the usual pattern, French viewers should be lucky. So the thread could be published two days earlier in France, on Wednesday October 25th!
As promised :
FNAF fans: You claimed and we delivered.
The FNAF movie will be released for next Halloween on October 27th, 2023!!!!!
205 days until the party.
And that’s the BIG NEWS
And as if this good news weren’t enough, Blum also pulled out a cartridge. He actually revealed the first image of the horror movie, which you can discover below! And if this one doesn’t tell us much, it allows us to take a first look at Freddy and realize that the universe of the feature film seems extremely faithful to video games. Which makes us impatient for the 200 days that separate us from the theatrical release.
A success that is anything but guaranteed for the horror film
as a reminder Five nights at Freddy’s is one of those adaptations of video games to cinema that will have a long gestation behind them. The game was actually announced in April 2015! However, we know that such a very long development does not always bode well. Universal Pictures is betting heavily on it, and at least two potential sequels have already been teased if they succeed at the box office. But for hardcover “FNAF” has to face a competitor who is not joking. Yes: on the same day will release a specific SAW 10(or SAW X), the tenth installment in the famous horror franchise, launched in 2004. If we don’t know much about it yet, the Kevin Kreutert-directed film might dwarf Emma Tammi’s.
