The Last of Us series will go a little off the beaten path in order to flesh out specific characters’ backstories. And it seems the adaptation will take advantage of this to introduce this important character to Ellie for the first time.
Ellie’s mother in The Last of Us?
As we know, TLOU series will take some liberties in script writing to better develop the characters. From the start it was assumed that those twining around Ellie and Joel would be entitled to new scenes. Major leaks from filming suggested flashbacks would be at play, and it seems we can learn more about how the fireflies and Marlene came to be. But not only.
According to a reputable insider @ViewerAnon Some of these flashbacks will feature Anna. A name mentioned many times in The Last of Us and in the American Dreams comics and with good reason, it’s Ellie’s mother. Marlene’s former ally and pre-pandemic nurse never showed up. His only words: a letter addressed to Ellie, which he kept carefully in his backpack. The series The Last of Us should therefore reveal more about it, probably through memories of the founder of the Fireflies. However, we’ll have to wait until 2023 to see if Ellie’s mother will appear in the HBO adaptation. And maybe even in my famous The Last of Us remake, who knows?
