With its very dark universe, a Diablo spin-off from Bloodborne would be anything but absurd, and this fan proves it in a particularly convincing way.
While waiting for Sony to do something about Bloodborne, there are legions of fan projects for it, as if to make up for a terrible lack since the FromSoftware masterpiece released exclusively on PS4 in 2015. Between unofficial remasters/remakes, demakes or reskins on iconic licenses like Mario Kart, fans have no shortage of crazy ideas. Maxime Foulquier is one of them and is interested in a concept that adapts the iconic Souls-like Lovecraft style to the Diablo style.
Bloodborne à la Diablo, a new refuge for fans in need?
Maxime Foulquier is a huge Bloodborne fan and a very talented developer. For a long time he worked on an unofficial remake of the legendary title on the Unreal Engine 5. Unfortunately, Sony did not see the matter very positively. Therefore, fearing a formal termination with disastrous consequences from the Japanese giant, Maxime changed his mind about this project, which would certainly have delighted many fans.
After noticing the success of other amateur projects such as a demake of Bloodborne or an adaptation of Mario Kart, he set himself another goal to pay homage to this game he loves so much: adapting it to a top-down gameplay like Diablo. On his X.com account, he shared a preview of the results of his work with the title “ Bloodborne Top Down Arena “. We see our hunter evolve in isometric view, massacring everything that moves with a dynamism and bloodshed that the father of Hack’n Slash would not have denied.
However, this first proposal is more similar to a title like Vampire Survivors, as the playing field is limited to an arena where enemies appear in a loop. However, the formula could be pushed even further by taking a bird’s-eye view of Bloodborne’s massive playing field. However, Maxime Foulquier does not plan to make his creation available for now, especially not on Steam. But hope gives life, as he himself states: “ Demake and the Minecraft project have not been canceled by Sony. So I keep my fingers crossed “. And we bet Bloodborne fans miss it too.
