This is an announcement that millions of gamers have been waiting for and should be imminent. There will of course be a lot of Final Fantasy to see at Gamescom and no, nothing to do with the famous FF9 remake.
For better or for worse, Final Fantasy 16 has not left players indifferent. Newcomers and regulars of the series have entered into heated debates. Some regret that the direction moves too far away from the old episodes, while others welcome the risk-taking and more action-oriented gameplay than ever. Despite its qualities and weaknesses, the action RPG is far from unanimously praised, but that has not stopped Square Enix from adding content to it with two DLCs. For now, only PS5 players have been able to enjoy it, but that could soon change.
Is Final Fantasy 16 coming to PC very soon?
While Xbox players will remain on the floor for the time being, this will not be the case for PC players. After countless problems, Square Enix had finally confirmed the arrival of a port on our war computers for FF16. Creative Business Unit III was quick to show its ambitions: 100 FPS on the largest machines, 1440p for an RTX 4070 and 4K for the 4080, as well as numerous graphic settings for the smallest configurations. The developers had promised a PC demo before the release, and it looks like a big announcement is imminent. While Gamescom 2024 is synonymous with all hopes, it is Nvidia that could reveal the truth.
In the latest update 560.81 of its drivers, the manufacturer openly mentions Final Fantasy 16 and adds its own profile. In general, the American giant works closely with developers to prepare its peripherals for future productions before release. Driver patches for the games in question are usually provided when their release is imminent. The FF16 demo should therefore arrive soon, and with it the announcement of the release date for PC. All eyes are of course on Gamescom Opening Night Live, which will take place on the evening of August 20, 2024. Naoki Yoshida has also confirmed his presence at the fair. In addition to promoting the latest expansion of Final Fantasy 14, the producer of FF16 will not leave empty-handed.
