Battlefield 2042 is slowly recovering from its disastrous launch. After the most serious problems have been eliminated, three seasons have already delivered new content for the multiplayer shooter. In an exclusive interview, they tell us how the developers dealt with the great criticism after the release of the game and didn’t give up hope for the shooter themselves:

But even after Season 3 it shouldn’t be over. In addition to the fourth major content update that has already been confirmed, a Season 5 should also appear, as has now been announced. In addition, the developers are already giving us a preview of the new maps.
What’s coming in Seasons 4 and 5?
Season 4
Season 4 soll early 2023
appear after all previous seasons had lasted three months, so we can expect a release in February. As usual it should a new specialistt, which will then be assigned to scouts in the new classification system.
Furthermore, Season 4 brings a new one Battle Pass, additional hardware and more
. So we’re probably allowed to go with more entirely new weapons and additional shooting irons from the portal mode. And then there would be that new mapof which the developers are already showing us a first picture:
This should be smaller and made more linear
be, in order to enable fights at short distances in particular.
Season 5
So far we know little about Season 5, but there will probably be no new Specialist here. According to the developers, they are satisfied with the number of 14 specialists after the fourth season. Otherwise, Season 5 should deliver all the content that players are used to.
In addition, we are already being told details about another new map, which is then expected to be released in May 2022 with Season 5:
In Season 5 we will look at previous (Battlefield) games and how they may show up in the world of 2042. The new Season 5 map will be a forgotten theater of war last seen in battle in the Battlefield 4 era. An overgrown area engulfed by vegetation and the War of 2042. It will require a combination of vehicles and infantry, and most importantly team play, to be victorious here.
