The universe of Star Wars It is full of tragic stories. We can agree that the great tragedy of the saga is starring Anakin Skywalker. After all, much of the chronology revolves around their destiny. The entire galaxy changes due to his actions, whether as a Jedi during the Clone Wars or by transforming into the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
We all know its tragedy. You have to be very disconnected from popular culture not to know it. However, not all fans fall for a small detail that broke the hearts of those who caught it on the fly: Anakin Skywalker hears the same last words of the three people he loved the most, at least if we rely solely on the movies.
Shmi Skywalker, Padmé Amidala and Obi-Wan Kenobi dedicated the same words to Anakin before he was buried in the Dark Side by Darth Vader. While the first two tell him “I love you”, his teacher and friend tells him “You were my brother Anakin. I loved you.” The exception is his son, Luke Skywalker, who tells him “I will not abandon you, I have to save you.” In the end, Anakin ends up prevailing over Darth Vader. And that’s how we saw it in the Ahsoka series.
It is obvious that all the misfortunes in his life pushed him to the Dark Side. And although it’s not discussed in the movies, these last words surely played a part in his fall into despair and ultimately into the pit of hatred that is the Dark Side. And since I see you coming, the final duel against Kenobi does not count, because then Darth Vader’s will was iron. Luckily, not as much as Emperor Palpatine believed.
