Aside from sudden server disconnects (which luckily are not common), another notorious and incredibly annoying server-related issue with Diablo 4 is what sometimes happens when transitioning between two regions rubber band.
This is actually fairly common, but the worst part is that it can happen anywhere the game defines a “new area”, so you never think about it, and you suddenly find yourself moving in infinite syrup.
When this happens in Diablo 4, the only fix is to quickly travel to any nearby town, which forces things to reload. However, this may not always be possible, especially if your character is locked into animation.
Even if you can basically go back to a nearby town and get things working again, that’s still going to take you a long way back to where you came from–especially if you haven’t unlocked the horse yet.
The Diablo community has been poking fun at this issue with the help of various memes, but perhaps the funniest example I’ve seen is this one. Reddit user Interesting_Ease755 posted the video.

“This goes on for a long time,” the player writes, which somehow makes it more interesting, especially when the video ends with the characters still still Move along that invisible rope, presumably on your way to Diablo 5.
