If you’ve been following the massive feud between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake, who have been airing their dissatisfaction via some pretty fiery diss tracks since things got a little heated back in March, then you’ll be happy to know that you can now have the two settle their differences with a good old-fashioned brawl. That’s right, a modder for Mortal Kombat 1 has swapped out some of the fighters for the feuding duo.
If you don’t already know about the feud, I won’t even try to fill you in on it, although the Wikipedia entry for the feud is set up similarly to the site’s page on actual wars between nations, and hopefully it’ll give you a decent synopsis of how the feud went, though you won’t be citing it in your article. Basically, something was said in the song that made the other person say “no, I don’t agree”, and as of now, it seems like most people think Kendrick won.

If you think things aren’t over yet and want to sort it out on your own, modder NegativeZoneNerd’s “Def Jam MK1 Pack 1 – Kendrick VS Drake” (thanks, Kotaku) might be able to help. As you can see below, it helpfully swaps the pair of models out for the default skins of Kung Lao or Reiko (for Kendrick) and Johnny Cage (for Drake).
So, as the title of this mod suggests, you’re free to have them thrown around in the style of the Def Jam games – though obviously using MK’s mechanics, rather than the ones that reward wearing lots of shiny decorations and throwing opponents into the crowd.

“I originally had Kendrick Lamar replace Reiko and added a microphone instead of a spear, but overall I think Kung Lao fits Kung Fu Kenny better,” NegativeZoneNerd wrote in the mod’s description, adding that they “considered adding 21 Savage as Drake’s Kameo because there’s a great mod in Call of Duty but no equivalent to help Kendrick’s side.” Balance, you love to see it.
They also explained that it didn’t take them too long to fix some minor issues with the model’s appearance, admitting: “Drake’s jacket was a nightmare. There was definitely some cut-outs and weird stuff around the armpits.”
Poor Drizzy. First of all, a lot of people think you lost the diss track war, and now your pit is not doing well in the mod.
