While waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6, one passionate and talented fan had fun recreating a Skyrim village. The result is enough to make you long for the future.
Bethesda is currently in the kitchen preparing The Elder Scrolls 6. To say that the next episode of the license is highly anticipated would be an understatement, especially after the lackluster launch of Starfield and the euphoria surrounding Fallout thanks to the series’ success. Even though the next episode isn’t coming for a few years, some fans are having fun using Unreal Engine 5 to flatter our retinas. It’s Skyrim once again, returning in a new light worthy of a true remake and making your mouth water while you wait for the sequel.
This is not the first time that the most popular game in the license has been entitled to such a facelift. The talented Leo Torres has been having fun recreating the most emblematic cities of Skyrim under Unreal Engine 5 for several months. Far from being the most spectacular in the game, it is now Morthal’s turn to undergo the same treatment. Even a small city like this can be a real eye-catcher thanks to modern technology and the power of Epic Games’ engine. Meticulous work that faithfully reproduces the place and the result is clearly something to dream of for The Elder Scrolls 6.
The artist also took advantage of all the tricks that the Unreal Engine 5.4 has to offer, especially Nanite for the entire modeling part and Lumen for the lighting. Although we know this small town that so many adventurers have explored by heart, this redesign gives it a whole new visual character and makes us rediscover it from a whole new perspective. However, don’t expect a Skyrim remake from him, this real-time demo simply serves to highlight his work and skills. Can we expect such a visual feat for The Elder Scrolls 6? Bethesda is betting on its in-house engine, which seems to be far from such a result. Starfield, for example, was developed with the famous Creation Engine 2. The publisher has not yet confirmed a possible upgrade, but anything is possible until the Skyrim sequel comes out.
