game news This space MMORPG is so complex that players will need a partnership with Excel to manage their ships
This legendary MMORPG, a real video game UFO, welcomes a completely groundbreaking update that allows its data to be transferred directly to Excel. Explanations.
The master of the universe
EVE Online has been a leader in the world of space simulation for many years. CCP Games’ galactic MMORPG celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, an extraordinary milestone for an equally important title. The app today is packed with content and boasts a genuine community of followers who continue to roam the borders of the galaxy today.
Quite demanding in its mechanics and perhaps incomprehensible to many newcomers at first glance. Eve Online has reinvented itself over the years to gain both accessibility and depth. This week CCP Games released a new update that changes everything, a partnership with Excel that will make your space conquest much easier.
An unprecedented partnership
Since June 20th, all EVE Online players can download a completely free module to integrate Excel into the game. This module therefore allows the software information to be processed in Excel and sorted by your accounts/characters to facilitate their analysis.
Specifically, this integration aims to significantly improve the experience of players regardless of their profile. Most of the game’s data – on exploration, mining, cargo, PvP, operations, or even players – can be pulled directly into spreadsheets. EVE Online players know well that using software like Excel is almost essential to optimizing their gaming experience. This integration is therefore more than welcome.
According to CCP Games, the introduction of this integration is a first for a video game. The module was developed in direct collaboration with the Microsoft Excel teams, which also include enthusiastic capsuleers.
Working with Microsoft to give EVE players direct access to Excel’s calculation tools has been a very pleasant and natural experience. For data enthusiasts, both in our companies and in our respective communities, this should come as no surprise. Bergur Finnbogason, Creative Director of EVE Online.
As already explained, the integration is already available. Using it couldn’t be easier. In the Excel or Excel web application, simply go to the Inserts category, then to Additions and add to Eve Online.
