After the disastrous flop of Madame Web, one of Spider-Man’s next spin-offs, which is struggling to release, still has a last-minute problem forcing Sony Pictures to make a decision.
Sony’s Spider-Man universe has expanded with Madame Web. A spin-off that was destroyed after Venom 2, which was already heavily criticized by the press and viewers. But the film was also a big flop, which didn’t even surprise its leading actresses Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney, who didn’t really defend it, quite the opposite. Another Marvel feature film was supposed to hit the big screen this summer, but there’s another change in the schedule.
The next Spider-Man spin-off is still late
After Madame Web and while waiting for Spider-Man 4, Sony Pictures had to release Kraven the Hunter. A film that introduces the supervillain and his origins into this cinematic universe. “Kraven The Hunter tells the bloody origin story of one of the most iconic supervillains in the Marvel Universe. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the fearsome hunter in this film set before his famous vendetta against Spider-Man » official summary. A bestial nature for a bloody production? The lead actor announced in an interview that the film would be R-rated in the US, indicating that violence will typically be present.
Originally, this new Spider-Man spin-off was supposed to hit theaters next August, but that’s no longer relevant. After being postponed twice, Kraven the Hunter will be postponed a third time. This brings it dangerously close to a launch in 2025. But for now, it narrowly escapes as it will air on American soil from December 13, 2024. A French release date has yet to be announced at the time of writing. If you want to see Kraven in action, you might want to check out Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, in which he stars. It is this villain that Insomniac Games has chosen to sow chaos in the streets of Manhattan.
