Game News This video game was revealed during the last Nintendo Direct… but the developers didn’t know it!
Like all conferences of this type, Nintendo Direct is generally an opportunity to discover many new upcoming games. But a few weeks ago, it wasn’t just the gamers who were surprised, because the developers of a game hadn’t expected their baby to be presented at that time!

The unexpected return of a game that many had forgotten
The end of August and September are often an opportunity to discover new upcoming games. In fact, many manufacturers broadcast some conferences during this period to make players want to mark a few dates in their calendars. A few weeks ago, Nintendo took advantage of a Nintendo Direct to announce the arrival of several games, including a certain remake of The Legend of Heroes: Traces in the Sky.
Unless you have been a fan of role-playing games for nearly fifteen years or more, you may have missed this JRPG. Released on PSP in 2011, The Legend of Heroes: Traces in the Sky is actually the sixth book in a saga that is often forgotten by the general public. However, it was already excellent at the time of its release (as our review at the time proved) and deserved a little more attention. Good news, Nihon Falcom’s game will actually be coming back to Nintendo Switch thanks to a remake called The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st.
As a reminder, the story of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky takes the player to the continent of Zemuria in the Liberl region. We then follow a certain Estelle Bright and his adopted brother Joshua. Both want to become Bracersa kind of profession dedicated to supporting the community. Even though it is the sixth game of the license, it is actually the first work of a trilogy and can therefore be played without knowing the other games. Those who want to discover The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky will be able to do so in 2025 thanks to the remake version on Nintendo Switch. Please note that the French translation is currently unconfirmed.
A surprising announcement… even for the developers!
While players were certainly surprised to see The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky in the latest Nintendo Direct, they certainly weren’t as surprised as the developers themselves! In fact, in an interview with GNN, The Nihon Falcom team stated that at that time they didn’t even know that their game was going to be announced.
Even though the first translations from Japanese to English were a complete surprise on the part of the developers, things seem to have benefited from a small nuance over time. In fact, the surprise would mainly come from the date of the announcement of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. So the developers knew that their game would be present during a Nintendo Direct, but not that it would be broadcast at that time. In addition, there were rumors a few weeks ago that the Nintendo Direct was originally supposed to be broadcast in September, rather than at the end of August. Perhaps the Nihon Falcom team had an early date in mind, which was ultimately changed by Nintendo. In any case, there is nothing to suggest that they were angry with Nintendo over this small communication problem.
