THQ Nordic has announced that its annual Digital Showcase will return this August.
The 2023 Digital Showcase will air Friday, August 11 at 12:00pm PT, 3:00pm ET, 8:00pm BST and 9:00pm CST.
HandyGames will start again with a preview to showcase some of its games ahead of the THQ Nordic showcase.
You can expect tons of game announcements, project updates, premiere announcements, news, and reveals of previously released games. This includes updates for Alone in the Dark, Outcast 2, and Trine 5.
Who knows: maybe even the new South Park game that Trey and Matt are working on will be completely public. We’re going to have to watch and find out.
At THQ Nordic 2022 Digital Showcase, Pieces Interactive announced that it is rebooting Alone in the Dark for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There’s no release date yet, but at the time of the announcement, the game was in pre-alpha and has been in development since 2019.
The showcase also teased the next South Park game, but gave no details. The only real takeaway from the trailer is hearing Randy Marsh yell “hot hot hot” in the background.
A third South Park game was unofficially announced in January 2022 from Job Listing for Question Games, a studio of former AAA developers whose past team accomplishments include: Thief: Deadly Shadows, BioShock games , Dishonored and the previous South Park games. Due to the requirements listed in the job opening, it was thought that the game would have a multiplayer component.
The previous South Park games, The Broken Hole and The Stick of Truth, were published by Ubisoft in 2017 and 2014, respectively.
