THQ Nordic and Koch Media, two subsidiaries of Embracer Group, announced yesterday that they have exchanged publishing rights and intellectual property. Seven licenses are affected.
THQ Nordic summarized the operation in a tweet illustrated by an image recalling the Pokémon exchanges on Game Boy. In particular, it brings the Red Faction license closer to its original developer, Volition, which belongs to Koch Media, while Risen is now placed under the same roof as Piranha Bytes, bought by THQ Nordic a year ago. Here are all the details:
- THQ Nordic collects RPG Risen, real-time strategy game Rush for Berlin, hack'n slash Sacred, life management and romance game Singles and action / undercover game Second Sight
- For its part, Koch Media receives the shooter Red Faction, returned in 2018 with the remaster of Red Faction Guerrilla, and Painkiller.
THQ Nordic trades Painkiller & Red Faction for Koch Media's Sacred, Risen, Rush for Berlin, Second Sight & Singles: Flirt Up Your Life!
