Nintendo continues to expand its catalog of retro titles with the upcoming arrival of three Mega Drive games via the additional pack. On the program: a Sonic game, a tactical RPG and a shoot’em up. Subscribers to the Switch Online + Additional Pack can already start these three titles.

Nintendo has been offering several options for Switch Online subscribers for the last year, especially when it comes to retro games. A catalog of NES and Super NES titles is available for Classic subscribers for $19.99 per year. Additionally, Nintendo 64 and Mega Drive games are available for those who opt for the higher $39.99 per year offer.

So nostalgia lovers can discover or rediscover the first adventures of Link, Mario or even Samus, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and a whole range of cult figures.

Nintendo regularly adds games to these retro catalogues. The convenience of the Switch and the many modern options make the experience easier to launch an attack on those games that have taken quite a long time for some. For our part, the three games that interest us have been available since April 21st and come straight from the SEGA Mega Drive.

Sonic Spinball, Shining Force II and Space Harrier 2 for Switch

Now you can start Sonic Spinball, Luminous Power II etc Space Harrier II on Nintendo’s hybrid console. The first game is a spin-off of the adventures of the blue hedgehog that mixes speed and pinball. As usual, you have to stop the diabolical plans of the terrible Eggman (Robotnik), who turns all animals into robots.

Developed by Camelot Software, a studio known of course for the Shining Force series but also for the titles Mario Golf and Mario Tennis, Shining Force II offers an epic adventure in a world of fantasy where warriors, mages and evil creatures meet.

Finally, players have the right to Space Harrier II, A colorful pseudo 3D shoot’em where you have to fight to free the planet from the tyrannical Dark Harrier. Finally, when you read the pitch of these games, you realize that back then it didn’t take much to make a game… These three titles are now available in the Nintendo Switch Online add-on pack.
