The creators of the Witcher series are always good for a surprise. After emphasizing once, no switch implementation of Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales To work or to plan one, CD Projekt RED just pulled one out of the hat months later.
In a press release, the studio today confirmed the release of the single player part of the trading card game Gwent: The Witcher Card Game for the hybrid console from Nintendo. Interested and Witcher fans can now purchase a fully localized, digital game version at a price of 19.99 euros in the eShop. And given the success of the Netflix series, Witcher fans should be quite sufficient at the moment.
Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game that takes you back to the monster-infested universe of the witcher Geralt of Rivia. The game was created by the same developers who are responsible for some of the most famous moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and tells the royal story of Meve, the war-proven Queen of Lyria and Rivien. Faced with an impending invasion, Meve has to go back on the war path.
The Switch version will be released along with a number of digital extras, including the official soundtrack, concept artwork, and an annotated map of Lyrien.
