The studio behind the popular TikTok app is reportedly pushing the game aggressively.

Bytedance, creator of video sharing services TikTokIt seems that serious efforts are being made to develop int games. Bloomberg reports that the Chinese company is currently setting up its own gaming division.

These teams target mobile games and will work on "hardcore or non-casual" games. Byte Beat has been acquiring smaller studios and building its own internal team. It has over 1,000 developers working on various game projects.

Two games are expected this spring, which will be the company's first game. Although specific details are not clear, Bloomberg said that developers will mainly focus on multiplayer online games with Chinese fantasy elements.

Analysts believe this is an attempt by Bytedance to diversify its output, which relies on revenue streams rather than selling ads on TikTok and other apps. With more than one billion users worldwide, the byte bounce may be something that shakes the Tencent / Netease duopoly.

These games will be developed for a global audience as well as local Chinese players. According to reports, Byte Beat has already performed distribution and marketing work overseas, so it seems that its driving force in the West will be huge.
