Shortly after appearing at The Game Awards last week, 2K and Gearbox Software released a new update on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands with a ton of gameplay info, including the reveal of the Magic Shot and Clawbringer classes.
There is again new information about the Borderlands spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. In addition to the classes Killomant and Brr-Serker, two other classes were presented, magic shot and clawbringer.
Magic shots are magicians who carry firearms, distribute spells and bullets in continuous fire and can turn their opponents into harmless cattle with a snap of their fingers. In contrast to those who regard guns merely as weapons, magic shots have turned them into extensions of their magical will through hard training.
Clawbringers are loyal warriors armed with a spectral hammer and a fire-breathing wyvern companion at their side, bringing thunder and flames over their enemies. You belong to an order of war that wants to fill the Wonderlands with heroism through fire and thunder. Her dragon aura strengthens the entire group with additional damage and more.
Other locations were also presented. The sobbing mold harbors numerous hazards, including poisonous fumes. The horror pyramid is teeming with the undead and the Kropfberg is populated by goblins and trolls – not pretty either. So we have two of the new types of opponents, trolls and goblins, and you should also be careful of mushrooms.
There is also new information on loot and combat mechanics. As usual, the best loot beckons in co-op because the opponents are simply stronger. Players also have the choice between two options that determine how the loot drops and the opponents are scaled in multiplayer. And of course there are different rarities, as you know from Borderlands. All firearms fall into six basic categories that match the six different types of ammunition that can be found in the area. There are also five types of elemental damage: fire, frost, lightning, poison and dark magic, with the corresponding vulnerabilities and resistances.
Rings usually give the equipment a simple boost, such as increased duration of the action skill, increased magazine size or damage for a certain type of firearm, more companion damage, and so on. Amulets tend to grant special effects, such as the chance to reload the equipped weapon immediately after a melee hit. You can also increase things like class power and damage, be it all damage or just in certain areas like firearms or status effects damage.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be released on March 25, 2022 for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and exclusively through the Epic Games Store for PC. Further digital stores for PC will follow in the course of 2022.
