Now that we’re well into 2024, we’ve yet to receive the first batch of Project L news of the new year. However, you don’t even need to wait for a surprising official reveal to get your fighting game fix – because one creator has brought League of Legends’ cooler top laner (I said it) to the 2D plains.
Thanks 3D Artist William Kong, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what Shen would look like if he did appear in Riot Games’ upcoming fighting game.First published on Art Station and Twitter

Kong, an Australian artist who works at Playside Games, posted the designs online and almost immediately became popular with those who saw them in the Zero-Day Project L community section. This is very similar to the excellent fan-made Akali designs we saw online last year. The creator behind Akali Killian Eventually he was hired by Riot Games to develop fighting games. who knows? Maybe Kong will receive an email in the next few weeks…
Since the game was first revealed, Project L fans have been speculating and debating which characters would be best suited to join the roster. Especially in months when there’s almost no news about the game, all you can do is speculate (even if we do).
While that’s still going on, there’s a real sense that news about Project L will pick up pace in 2024. This is largely thanks to the fact that players have been able to play the game in person at Evo 2023 and the League of Legends 2023 World Championship is taking place in South Korea.
Let us know what you think of the design? Let us know – and which champion you’d like to see make this year’s official roster!
