Henry Cavill didn’t give up to embody the white-haired witcher.
Henry Cavill loves the Witcher universe. The actor has emphasized this often enough, whether in books or video games. For many fans, Cavill’s role as a protagonist in the Witcher series was a huge draw – but in order to get it, he was arguably overly intrusive and annoying.
At least that’s what showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich says out loud Vulture.
He was really annoying.so Hissrich.
Cavill also admitted to asking for updates about the role very frequently:
That was something I didn’t want to let pass me by without trying my best. I constantly bugged my agents. They said they’re not ready yet.
In the end, Hissrich gave in: Finally I said, ‘I’ll meet you. The show has not yet received the green light. There’s nothing.’ I said, ‘thanks. Now have to go and write the show.‹
Henry Cavill ultimately prevailed against 206 applicants. According to his own statements, he did not follow the book description, but based on the Geralt game. But he didn’t remain the face of Geralt of Rivia for too long: after season 3, Liam Hemsworth will replace him on the series – this leaves fans angry.
