A well-known picture in the smartphone sector: Apple clears the Christmas market – and Samsung dominates the rest of the year with its range. That has now (almost) changed, because: Apple and Samsung are currently almost level (according to reports from techspot.com and welt.de out).
Apple almost level with Samsung: According to expert calculations, Apple was only just behind smartphone market leader Samsung in the past quarter.
The reason for that may be due to the strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro. In any case, Apple achieved a market share of 21 percent in the quarter between January and March (according to a report by the analysis firm Canalys). According to the same report, Samsung had 22 percent in the same quarter.
According to the same report, Samsung came in at 22 percent in the same quarter. According to the analysts, only one percentage point separates Samsung from Apple.
Possible reasons for the development: So the possible reasons for this are the delivery problems in autumn 2022 (caused by corona lockdowns in plants in China); or the high demand for the iPhone 14 Pro should be considered as a sales-promoting factor. At the same time, the world market for smartphones has fallen by 12 percent – also reports the analysis company Canalys.
In its report on this weakening of the smartphone market, the standard writes: It was the fifth quarterly decline in a row after strong business in the corona pandemic.
How do you rate this success for Apple? Is it because Apple is making the better offer with its iPhone – or are the delivery problems in autumn 2022 responsible for the higher sales of Apple handsets.
