As promised, Blizzard is moving quickly to address the amount of negativity surrounding Diablo 4 right now following the release of patch 1.1, which kicked off Season of Malice.
The patch was almost universally criticized by players for reducing XP gain rates, nerfing all classes, rendering certain key stats useless, and introducing changes that many felt slowed down the game unnecessarily.
While Blizzard has rolled back one change and fixed what players believe was an intentional bug, most of the changes in 1.1 were left untouched.
Which brings us to today’s live stream. Blizzard is hosting a new, less formal episode of the Campfire Chat today, in which it will explain the intent behind all of these changes in detail and discuss community feedback.
“We wanted to take this opportunity to directly address this feedback during our season of vicious campfire chat,” the developer promises.
The show will be held today, July 21st 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST. These include game director Joe Shely, associate game director Joseph Piepiora, and Diablo community lead Adam Fletcher.
You’ll be able to follow the official Diablo Twitch and YouTube channels, we’ve embedded the Twitch player below.
In addition to addressing the community’s reaction to patch 1.1, the developer will also talk about what’s coming to the game – though we do hope that includes reversing some of the content the patch introduced.
If unusually long queue times after the season launch last night prevented you from playing the game, you may want to make sure you complete this crucial step before starting your season character. It will save you a lot of time and give you a good head start.
