The tactical shooter Rainbow Six: Siege continues to ride the wave of success and is now entering its seventh year in terms of content. Here we give you an overview of everything that awaits you in the first new season in Year 7 from now on.
With “Demon Veil”, Ubisoft is launching the first season in Year 7 of Rainbow Six: Siege this Tuesday; this is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC as well as Xbox Game Pass, Ubisoft+, Amazon Luna and Stadia.
As usual, this new season brings new gameplay updates, but above all the new Japanese operator Azami. You can also look forward to a team deathmatch mode and a new map later in the season. TDM mode is available for free from March 17th to 24th.
Azami is new to the game as a defender and is equipped with the Kiba Barrier Gadget. Their throwable canisters deploy an expanding material that solidifies into a bulletproof surface. This allows her to quickly repair holes in walls and floors, providing a more mobile and versatile approach to defense.
The new map that follows later is “Emerald Plains” – the first new map in three years. The card is based in Ireland, and the starting signal should be given “soon after the start of the season”.
Additional updates coming with Demon Veil include:
- Match replay for console players
- Phone number as a requirement for ranked matches
- Balancing updates for Goyo and Valkyrie
- Exclusive Elite Skin for Nomad
- Attacker re-election
- New R6Fix incentive program
Until March 21st you can purchase the time-limited Year Pass for 30 dollars or the Premium Year Pass for 60 dollars. The Year Pass unlocks the four seasonal Battle Passes – including 14-day early access to new Operators when they are released – while the Premium Year Pass unlocks four Battle Passes, early access to new Operators, exclusive Exotic weapon skins, R6 Credits and more . Players who purchase the Premium Year Pass also unlock the first 20 tiers out of 100, allowing for faster rewards.
