Fans have been waiting for a new Splinter Cell for many years, and even if there were rumors again and again, a new series part has not yet manifested itself. Now there is new hope!
There is a lot going on at Ubisoft after Ghost Recon Breakpoint has flopped as much as possible and has received a lot of criticism. All new games like Watch_Dogs: Legion or Rainbow Six: Quarantine have been postponed for revisions to draw the right lessons from the failure.
In the meantime, the so-called editorial team at Ubisoft has also been fundamentally rebuilt. This should result in future titles becoming significantly more individual and independent again. Recently, many games had too many similarities, according to the creators' taste, because individuals had too much to say in the overall process and their opinions were incorporated into all Ubisoft titles.

In the course of this restructuring of the editorial team, there is now also hopeful news for all Splinter Cell fans: According to a report by VGC Maxime Beland is now returning to Ubisoft. He had left the company for Epic Games and previously worked as Creative Director on the last two Splinter Cell parts Conviction and Blacklist.
His return naturally raises new questions as to whether the Splinter Cell franchise could finally make a comeback too. There has always been speculation about such a thing, but Ubisoft has never wanted to have an official confirmation so far, also because some developers have become quite nervous about the work on the brand. After all, the expectations of the numerous fans are high. Beland is reportedly no longer to act as a director, but could certainly now encourage the responsible employees at Ubisoft to finally pick up a new Splinter Cell.
