As is well known, Netflix has snapped up the rights to Tomb Raider in order to adapt the video game material into an anime. Now there is a first trailer to watch!
The animated TV series about Tomb Raider from Netflix is apparently taking shape. The good piece is set to make its debut on the streaming service in October of this year – and you can now gather your first impressions in advance. Reason: Netflix has released a first trailer for “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft”.
As befits the franchise, the series will revolve around a global and adventurous search for a stolen artifact. According to Netflix’s description, Lara Croft has increasingly turned away from her friends and is increasingly going on solo adventures. However, she is drawn back home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor. On her journey to find and return the artifact, Lara is also confronted with herself and must decide what kind of hero she wants to be.
The animated series is set after the events in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final chapter of the Survivor video game trilogy by Crystal Dynamics. Powerhouse Animation, which has already created “Castlevania” and “Master of the Universe: Revelation” for Netflix, is responsible for the anime. Hayley Atweel (“Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning”) will voice Lara Craft in the series. She will be supported by Allen Maldonado (“The Wonder Years”) as Zip and Earl Baylon in the role of Jonah Maiava – as in the video games.
“Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” will premiere on October 10, 2024 on Netflix.
