Released just over a year ago, Total War: Warhammer III is getting fresh content updates. The Creative Assembly and SEGA have now announced the new expansion “Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs”.
New content is coming to Total War: Warhammer III with Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs. Together, SEGA and Creative Assembly have now confirmed the fresh campaign pack for April 13th. In it you can conquer the game world as Astragoth Eisenhand, Drazhoath the Ashen and Zhatan the Black. The package around the chaos dwarves will also get new campaign mechanics, goals and units.
The three characters are, of course, new legendary commanders belonging to the chaos dwarves. These are a fierce and ruthless warrior race with a dark disposition. Officially, the three Commando characters are described as follows:
- Astragoth Eisenhand, High Priest of the Hashut, is the strongest sorcerer-prophet of the chaos dwarves. However, his body slowly begins to petrify, almost burying him alive in his powerful mech suit.
- Drazhoath the Ashene, sorcerer-prophet of the Hashut, is the lord of Castle Black and commander of the ferocious Legion of Azgorh. Once banished by Astragoth, Drazhoath’s mastery of magic and engineering, along with his thirst for vengeance, has only increased in exile.
- Zhatan the Black is the commander of the Tower of Zharr. Due to his unsurpassed combat prowess, the infernal forges can hardly keep up with his insatiable need for weapons and ammunition.
The Chaos Dwarves lust after a source of untold power to rule the known world: the Blood of the Hashut – a powerful being who embodies fire, greed and tyranny. To get to them, they must build the Hashut’s Great Drill, which will dig through the fabric of reality to invade their realm. This is only possible through the contamination of valuable relics from their ancient enemies, the dwarves. But the dwarves hold grudges and seek revenge for the defilement of their ancient artifacts.
The faction’s ranks are a mixture of iron-clad warriors and infernal beasts – from the Infernal Guard and Taurus Centaurs to demon-inspired monsters like the K’daai Fireborn. But the true power of the Chaos Dwarves lies in their fiendish war machines, ranging from magma cannons and skull splitters to the infernal Terrorquake Mortar and the colossal K’daai Destroyer.
Besides these, the hobgoblin chief turned Chaos Dwarf Enforcer, Gorduz Spinebreaker, can be recruited as a Legendary Hero. Possessing a suspicious disposition and plenty of depraved treachery, he is unkillable and has outlived most of the other tribal leaders. Always have your back.
The following campaign mechanics will be introduced with the DLC:
- The Infernal Forge allows the infernal Chaos Dwarf legions to grow in power by forging special plans in fire, each granting infernal combat bonuses.
- In the Tower of Zharr, the Chaos Dwarves compete (un)diplomatically for special seats on this powerful council, granting unique faction rewards upon promotion.
- Convoys allow the tools of war to be traded in exchange for a variety of resources, while you fight battles and trade workers along the way, keeping the rewards flowing.
- The economy requires a multifaceted approach to subjugating and organizing labor to feed the forges, construct advanced buildings, and expand the empire.
In addition to the paid package, there is also free new game content. The legendary hero Ulrika Magdowa will be unlocked for all base game owners. She is a vampire and excels in close and long-range combat as well as with spells from the Lore of Shadows.
Those who pre-order the new DLC can secure an early bird discount of 10 percent on the retail price.
