Thanks to the Steam Next Fest you can currently try out all sorts of demos. Homeworld 3 is also launching and gives you your first insights into the War Games mode.
The real-time strategy sequel Homeworld 3 is not far away – and thanks to the Steam Next Fest you can already get a first impression for yourself. This certainly applies to the War Games mode, as this can now be tried out in a demo that is available for a limited time.
Starting today, February 5th, you can get the trial version in question on both Steam and the Epic Games Store from 7:00 p.m. The demo is now available there until February 12th at 7:00 p.m. and provides you with the game’s roguelike mode.
With War Games, the creators want to offer you a real-time strategy experience with great replay value, so that the title is expanded beyond the campaign. In addition to the classic real-time strategy gameplay, Homeworld 3 is expanded to include roguelike elements. You can gamble alone or in a group with up to three players. You move your fleets through a series of three randomly selected combat challenges. If you successfully command your fleets and complete the objectives, you will be rewarded with artifacts that you can use to upgrade your ships. Gaining experience unlocks additional artifacts and starting fleets.
After the release of the main game, the War Games mode will be further developed regularly via free updates as well as optional premium content. Three paid DLC expansions are planned as part of a Year One Pass.
