The former creative director of the Battlefield series aka Mr. Battlefield has formed the new studio TTK Games with other veterans from EA and DICE and is dedicated to a new next-gen shooter that will take on Call of Duty & Co. in the future should.
Despite the fact that Battlefield 2042 was a flop recently, numerous Battlefield fans should now sit up and take notice, because long-standing developers of the successful shooter series have now formed a new studio and are dedicating themselves to their own shooter project.
The new studio is called TTK Games and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. The studio is led by Lars Gustavsson, who is considered an absolute Battlefield veteran and worked for developer DICE for 22 years. The former creative director of the Battlefield series had previously left DICE in September 2022 after a major backseat there.
At TTK Games, Gustavsson now brings together all sorts of other heavyweights from Battlefield history. Senior Design Director Daniel Berlin, formerly the Lead World Designer and Design Director of Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2042, is also leaving DICE after more than ten years and is on board, for example. This also applies to the new CTO and Technical Director Vidar Nygren, whose Battlefield vita ranges from Bad Company to Battlefield 5. He is also credited as one of the co-creators of the Frostbite engine, which has been used in every Battlefield game since Bad Company.
Would you like more examples? Art Director Peter Hoyles has also joined the studio and is leaving DICE, where he was responsible for the aesthetic look of many Battlefield games; meanwhile he also worked for Skydance New Media.
By the way, TTK stands for Time to Kill – a term that is also used for the pace of battles in a shooter. In view of the vita of the most important employees, it goes without saying that TTK Games is working on a next-gen shooter, but there are no further information and details about the actual project yet. However, it was confirmed that funds had already been raised to a significant extent in order to be able to implement the title; the publisher has not been revealed, but TTK Games should retain its creative freedom in the development of the game anyway.
