- Balcony power plants will help you reduce your electricity costs.
- In addition, you can legally feed more energy with the system than you may think.
- But you have to tune your balcony power plant. However, you should only fall back on legal means, otherwise it will be expensive.
A balcony power plant is an inexpensive way to generate electricity itself. But most of the systems run below their possible output. However, there are legal options to optimize performance. In the following we show you how you produce more electricity without violating applicable regulations. We also take a close look at legal developments.

Since the introduction of the Solarpathet I In 2024, the balcony power plants in Germany may have a module performance of up to 2,000 watts. However, the maximum feed -in power into the house network is limited to 800 watts. In this way, more powerful modules can also be installed, whereby the inverter regulates the feed -in accordingly.
The registration of your balcony power plant will be registered via the website of the Federal Network Agency. (Source: Federal Network Agency)
Registration with the network operator is no longer necessary. Instead, registration in the Market data register of the Federal Network Agency within a month after commissioning.
Balcon power plant: tips for increasing performance
So that you can get the maximum out of your system, we have compiled the following 5 tips for you:
Use high -quality solar modules
The selection of powerful solar modules is crucial. Modules with a higher efficiency can generate more energy, especially in the case of suboptimal lighting conditions. In addition, so -called bifacial modules that absorb light on both sides enable higher electricity production.
Inverter with intelligent control
Modern inverter with integrated performance limitation ensure that the feed -in into the house network does not exceed the legally required 800 watts. Some models also offer WLAN functionality to monitor performance in real time.
Optimal orientation and inclination
The alignment of the solar modules to the south and an inclination angle of about 30 degrees maximize the sun's radiation – and thus the energy generation. If there is only a limited space available to you, East-West orientations also make sense to distribute electricity production throughout the day.
Expansion of the system
The installation of additional modules can increase the overall performance of your system as long as the feed -in power of the inverter remains at 800 watts. This enables better use of the available area, for example on balconies, facades, but also in the garden. However, make sure that the total module performance does not exceed 2,000 watts and the installation corresponds to the local building regulations.
Increase self -consumption
In order to maximize your own consumption, it is advisable to operate electricity -intensive devices such as washing machines or dishwasher during the day when the solar system actively produces electricity. This reduces the cover of network current and increases the economy of your system.
Do you want to further upgrade your balcony power plant beyond the previous tips? The Solarflow 800 from Zendure is an inverter that can do more than just convert electricity.
