It was recently exposed Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demons There’s a playable trailer tucked inside Bayonetta 3 Always.
One of the slightly surprising announcements at The Game Awards was the release of a new Bayonetta game, as Bayonetta 3 was only released in October. As the name suggests, the prequel game is somewhat of a Bayonetta origin story, and it’s coming out soon, next March in fact. Save for the biggest surprise, the game has remained hidden in plain sight as a hidden chapter of Bayonetta 3 itself.
As Eurogamer discovered, the secret chapter had been discovered before, but at the time it wasn’t entirely clear what it contained. The basic playable trailer doesn’t actually run very long, around six or seven minutes in total, but it does provide a sense of what to expect from a storybook game.
This little chapter seems to start very early on in Bayonetta: Origins, as you can’t use the demonic form of Chesire, the plush toy that Bayonetta shows off in the Origins trailer.
As this walkthrough video from Kakuchopurei shows, to play this chapter, you have to go through several hoops. First, you’ll need to purchase the picture book itself from Rodin’s shop using your aura. After getting the book, you need to find three keys hidden in the game levels.
Like Bayonetta 3, Bayonetta: Origins will unsurprisingly be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, with physical and dig ital releases on March 17, 2023. The gameplay still looks alive, though not as intense as the main series, so it might suit those interested in the series looking for a more casual experience than what it previously offered.
