Turtle Beach is primarily known for headsets and, most recently, gamepads and flight sticks. Now the hardware manufacturer is also getting into racing games and is announcing its first steering wheel and pedal system.
Well, look at that. Turtle Beach made a name for itself with headsets for years, then got into controllers and also has a flight stick, which, by the way, wasn’t bad at all.
Apparently encouraged by this, the manufacturer is now expanding its portfolio with a first steering wheel and pedal system developed by Turtle Beach’s VelocityOne simulation group for Xbox and Windows PCs.
Fans of racing simulations experience direct force feedback from the VelocityOne Race’s specially developed K:Drive motor, which is designed to offer realistic, powerful response while simultaneously providing fluid steering and detailed reactions to the racing action.
On the riders’ feet, the VelocityOne Race’s aluminum pedals and the Dynamic Brake Tek load cell braking system are designed to simulate realistic braking performance. You can also monitor race telemetry data in real time in the supported racing games and adjust the controls via the integrated race management display. The tuner companion app and switchable buttons offer further customization options.
Also on board is a hand-sewn leather steering wheel with Mag-Shift paddle shifters and two additional analog paddle shifters with magnetic Hall effect sensors for the clutch and handbrake.
VelocityOne Race is available from today at an RRP of 699.99 dollars at www.turtlebeach.com
and can be pre-ordered at participating retailers worldwide and arrives on February 26, 2024
on the market.
