It’s time for the little Thursday ritual. Two new free games from the Epic Games Store are now available. The next titles on offer have also been announced.
With the Xbox Game Pass expansions announced earlier this week, it’s time for free games from the Epic Games Store. Two new gifts aimed at a very specific audience.
Two new free Epic Games Store games available
Every Thursday at 5pm it’s time for free games from the Epic Games Store. Last week the PC store left many gamers disappointed with titles that weren’t to everyone’s liking. Today the Fortnite editor returns with two new freebies that are sure to catch the eye of metal fans. Rising Hell and Slain: Back From Hell can be picked up from October 6th to October 13th at 5 p.m.
The first free game from the Epic Games Store presents itself as a vertically scrolling title in the form of a rogue-lite with rather shimmery pixels. It is based on the action of gothic heavy metal riffs, boss fights against gigantic ancient demons like Dagon, Beelzebub and multiple game modes (campaign and challenge), both of which offer specific leaderboards.
Slain: Back From Hell also draws inspiration from heavy metal. More arcade oriented, the free EGS game puts you in the role of Bathoryn, a doomed hero in a gothic world trying to free six cursed worlds from the grip of murderous overlords. The program features hand-to-hand combat that wants to be challenging, a soundtrack interpreted by Curt Victor Bryant, ex-Celtic Frost member, and 6 hours of metal-inspired chaos and gore.
What are the next free EGS games?
And next week? Rising Hell and Slain: Back From Hell are joined by ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove! replaced. A roguelike adventure adapted by the legendary ’90s duo of the Mega Drive era. A return judged in our columns to be old-fashioned. It actually resumes its gameplay of the time without really bringing any modernity.
It’s clearly not going to be the most memorable free game on the Epic Games Store. It remains to be seen whether or not it will be accompanied by a second gift. Anyway, it will always be available at 5pm from October 13th to October 20th.
