Season 2 of the One Piece series is back in the headlines with both good and bad news. But despite a very sad announcement, you will love what’s to come.
series One piece in live action had a bombshell effect when it was announced. Nobody seemed to believe it at first, even if the wait was unbearable. When it was finally released on Netflix, the first season was a hit and the feedback was quite good. Very good, in fact. Live action or not, everything is very faithful to the original work and the cast seems to have been born for it. Beautiful faces that embody iconic anime characters down to their expressions. An attention to detail that we have to thank one man for: the creator of the manga, Eiichiro Oda.
In season 2 of “One Piece” it will be all over again
The author who gave birth to Luffy and his friends was not only consulted, but he also confirmed everything. A joint effort that has paid off ever since One piece is one of Netflix’s biggest hits. Of course, a second season has been ordered and production is underway. Once again, the wait is pretty crazy. Plus, the good news is that it should be at least as faithful to the original as the first season.
The reason is simple: dear Eiichiro Oda is back in the game. It is therefore impossible to ignore the father’s confirmation in the manga. Season 2 of One Piece should therefore be at least as detail-oriented as the first adventures of the Straw Hat Crew, we shall see.
As a bonus, the entire cast is back. Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Emily Rudd (Nami), Mackenyu Arata (Zorro), Taz Skylar (Sanji) and Jacob Gibson (Usopp) will of course be there. New faces should also come and say hello, like Callum Kerr, who will play Smoker, Julia Rehwald, who will play Tashigi, or even Ty Keogh, who will play the role of Dalton, while Rob Coletti will play Wapol.
Bad news for this actress we wanted to see
So there are quite a lot of people and a lot of new characters on the bill. A superstar was also expected to play the role of Doctor Kureha: the talented Jamie Lee Curtis.
The actress, who will soon be seen in the film “Borderlands”, admitted that she wanted to play this character in the series One piece which she found absolutely brilliant. Bad news, unfortunately this will not be the case. In Deadline columns, Becky Clements, president of the studios, reiterated this Jamie Lee Curtis reportedly won’t be taking part in the second season of One Piece due to scheduling conflictsQuite simple. Doctor Kureha must therefore find another interpreter.
One Piece Season 2 coming soon to Netflixbut unfortunately we don’t have that No final release date yetIf all goes well, we expect a 2025 release, but we’ll have to wait to be sure.
