Ring of Elden is a game full of secrets, and it turns out there’s at least one secret left to be discovered.
It may have been released over two years ago, but I feel like I still haven’t forgotten how much there is to discover in Elden Ring. I know for a fact I haven’t finished all the storylines I need to experience, although I think due to cultural osmosis I generally have strong ideas about most of what games have to offer. However, as shared in an IGN interview, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki said there’s one more thing in the game that he hasn’t seen any players discover yet. “Personally, I feel like there’s a little element that hasn’t been discovered yet,” Miyazaki said.

“So whether that’s up to user interpretation or it’s up to further investigation and gameplay, that’s what I’m looking forward to.” Thankfully, though, he doesn’t think this kind of thing will ever go away, adding: “I think it’s a matter of when rather than if, but there might still be a few little things missing.” As expected, Miyazaki left this cryptic comment in typical Souslike fashion, without pointing out what players might want to see any direction.
Of course, to make matters worse, we finally know when Elden Ring’s DLC expansion Shadow of the Erdtree will be released, thanks to a release date and gameplay trailer released earlier this week. Of course, players have already theorized about various things seen in the trailer, although they’ll have to wait a few more months to find out exactly what it is.
IGN’s full interview is well worth a read, as Miyazaki also shares some interesting thoughts on whether FromSoftware’s Soulslikes will continue the way the uncontroversial Dark Souls 2 did.
